The Meeting Room is a leadership novel about what really happens when people come together to solve problems, make decisions, and build trust. Through the story of Joan Harper, a newly promoted team lead, readers experience the invisible side of leadership—the unspoken tension, the silence before truth is told, and the courage it takes to shift from control to orchestration.

As Joan’s meetings begin to unravel under pressure, she discovers that success isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about learning to listen, read the room, and design the conditions where others can do their best thinking. Guided by mentors and challenged by strong personalities, Joan’s journey mirrors the transformation every leader must make—from directing people to orchestrating collaboration.

Each chapter of The Meeting Room introduces one of Rebecca’s 25 Rules and Meeting Magic Tips—simple, practical insights for creating clarity, safety, and flow. Readers come away with new ways to see meetings not as time-wasters, but as mirrors of organizational culture and opportunities for growth.

Written by Rebecca H. Mott, known as The Meeting Architect, this book bridges story and practice. With more than 30 years of leadership and facilitation experience, Rebecca was the first internally certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt at the Tennessee Valley Authority and served as Chair of the ASQ Innovation Division (2023–2024). She created the Meeting Symphony Group Orchestration & Personal Transformation Model, a framework for building teams that think, decide, and create together.

The Meeting Room is more than a novel—it’s an invitation to reimagine how we meet. Because when we gather with purpose and presence, the room becomes a reflection of who we are—and who we can become together.
